Winter Market Vendor Spotlight: Twenty Two West

VTG CLT is popping up at The Fillmore for the fourth annual Winter Market! Come out and spend the day shopping with over 60 of the region’s best vintage & handmade vendors.  Admission to the market is FREE from 11am-6pm! Get in an hour early at 10am for $5 to get first pick of all the goods. Leading up to the market, we’ll be sharing vendor spotlight posts that give you a chance to meet some of our amazing vendors in advance of the market.

We are really excited to welcome Mary from Twenty Two West to the Vintage Charlotte Winter Market.  We are in love with her unique woven jewelry and one of a kind wall hangings.  Here is Mary with her story:

My name is Mary Hamby and I am the owner and artist behind Twenty Two West.  The name of my business comes from a place that inspires me- the home I grew up in in Greenville, South Carolina. I make jewelry and fiber arts with a modern aesthetic and a focus on quality and excellence. My passion is to connect people with art that is attainable and beautiful.

Each loom block is woven on a piece of reclaimed wood and combines handmade gilded pottery with responsibly sourced fibers in each one of a kind piece. twenty two west

Each necklace is woven by hand on a miniature loom before being stitched onto a gilded pottery base.

We just love what the ladies of Geoflora Jewelry are up to!

Geoflora is the collaboration of twin sisters Ellen and Margaret. Through balancing floral and geometric influences, the two strive for a fresh take on modern jewelry. They will be pre-releasing their new collection at the event so be sure to stop by their table!

We are so excited to have Whitney Alyssa with us for Something Old, Something New this year.  Her beautifully hand-crafted pieces are all one of a kind and can be custom made just for your big day.  She is well known for her beaded floral bouquets, hair pieces and belts, but we heard a rumor that she is bringing a brand new collection of necklaces made from vintage findings!

Please welcome Katie from BlyDesign:

With a background in classical piano, I have always had an artistic, creative spirit. I discovered my passion for jewelry design after coming across some old, chandelier crystals in my late Grandmother’s house. I was struck by the beauty of each crystal and yearned to create a necklace that would keep one of the crystals close to my heart.

Over the years, I began refining my techniques in metal work and was overwhelmed by the response to my designs from my friends and family. I decided to launch Blydesign in 2009 as a way to make my pieces accessible to my fans.

Each piece of jewelry is carefully, handcrafted and distributed by myself in my hometown studio located in Charlotte, NC. Some of my favorite materials to work with are resin, brass, and leather.

Vintage Charlotte Summer Market

Ladies and gentlemen! Come one, come all!

The Vintage Charlotte Summer Market

June 29th 2013

11am-6pm (early bird entrance at 10am)

The Fillmore Charlotte

Will include 60+ vendors of vintage, antique and handmade goods including housewares, furniture, decor, clothing, jewelry and more. In addition to local handmade and vintage shopping, this time around there will also be a beer garden featuring local beers, food trucks and live music.  Admission to Vintage Charlotte’s Summer Market is free of charge, but if you want to beat the crowds and have first pick at everything there is an early bird admission of $5 which gets you in an hour before the doors open to the general public. Doors open at 11am, 10am for early birds.
