Vintage Charlotte Winter Market!

VTG CLT is popping up at The Fillmore Charlotte for the third annual Winter Market on November 15, 2014! Come out and spend the day shopping with over 60 local vintage & handmade vendors.

Central Coffee Co. will be on hand keeping us caffeinated, Yelp Charlotte is supplying some swag, King of Pops Charlotte will be there with our sugar rush and Juan Taco Truck and Bleu Barn Bistro will be filling our tummies!

Admission is FREE from 11am-6pm! Get in an hour early at 10am for $5 to get first pick of all the goods.

THE SUMMER MARKET VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: Beautiful Idiot Clothing

Our vendor spotlight posts give you a chance to meet some of our amazing vendors before the Vintage Charlotte Summer Market on June 14, 2014 at The Fillmore Charlotte.

It is no secret that we are pretty much obsessed with everything that local designer Beautiful Idiot Clothing makes, here is Hollie talking about how it all started and what they are bringing to market:

We started out making adorable outfits for the little ones, as Rosie and Pepe. One day we finally realized that we could create wonderful pieces for adults, inspired by a style we would want to wear ourselves. With my background in fashion, we began to make prototype dresses and hand painted zip pouches. Perfect pieces for a night out in Plaza Midwood!

Anthony, feeling left out, suggested we try to make unique skinny ties. The first fabric we used in the process was actually an up-cycled plaid pajama set from Anthony’s brother. We now try to hunt down awesome fabrics from thrift stores, and closets alike, for most of our unique ties. Beautiful Idiot Clothing is beyond ecstatic to bring these styles to the VTGCLT Summer Market!

We just love the unique designs that Stephen and Nathan from Powder Studios are creating:

Powder Studio designs original hand-made porcelain and custom luminaries. We are a small ceramics studio in NoDa that focuses on crafting products that will make you smile, and doing our part to add a tiny bit of vibrancy to Charlotte’s local culture.

We will once again be bringing our pop-up dressing room to the Summer Market so you’re sure to leave with pieces that fit you beautifully, and new to our booth this time around will be a $5 & $10 rack of lots of lovely pieces priced to sell! FWV owner Katherine used hunting for vintage as stress relief during four tough years of Architecture school and now has way too much inventory, so stop by the Ferris Wheel Vintage booth to grab some new-to-you goodies at a steal!

We just love what the ladies of Geoflora Jewelry are up to!

Geoflora is the collaboration of twin sisters Ellen and Margaret. Through balancing floral and geometric influences, the two strive for a fresh take on modern jewelry. They will be pre-releasing their new collection at the event so be sure to stop by their table!

Behind the scenes here at Vintage Charlotte, we get more support than we could ever imagine from our talented vendors. Vintage Concord is always there when we need a sounding board, an awesome event poster designed, or even a shoulder to cry on! If you’ve meet Vintage Concord at our pop-up markets, you may already know that they have killer vintage finds as well as at the last market they introduced us to some of their new lighting projects and goods. What you may not know is that Vintage Concord just moved to a new studio where they will be offering their new letterpress workshops.
