We are really excited to welcome Robin and Brannon of R&B Printery to their first Vintage Charlotte Summer Market.  R&B Printery is an eco-friendly letterpress company specializing in greeting cards, here is a little more about their process and products:Awesome Lifestyle

Robin and Brannon Carter of R&B Printery, in Spartanburg, South Carolina are reviving the age-old art of letterpress printing.  Creating handmade, eco-friendly works of art to inspire your family’s handwritten memories.Vintage Printing PressesAbove: Brannon works to ready a printing job on a vintage Craftsman style Chandler & Price printing press, circa 1927.

The gentle squeak, metal clanking and whir of a century-old printing press provides a rhythmic symphony of sounds as they feed and print each card one-at-a-time.  Vintage wood and metal hand-set typographic letters are combined with Robin’s hand-drawn designs and a vibrant color palette of hand-mixed soy and reclaimed inks. One in Melon Macro Above: The hallmark characteristic of letterpress art is the deep, sunken impression of the print.

Robin and Brannon are artisans by trade and environmentalists at heart.  As a Green America® Certified Business, they strive to protect natural forests and the wildlife that depend on them by diverting reusable paper waste from landfills.  Post-consumer recycling helps create a sustainable market for recycled materials.  They encourage their clients to continue the cycle by recycling or composting their letterpress cards and biodegradable, plant-based bio-sleeve packaging.

Stop by their booth on June 2-3, 2017 during our Vintage Charlotte Summer Market and check out their complete line of special occasion and general greeting cards.  They also do custom printing for special events and businesses!Sweet Birthday Icecream Fathers Day Crane Thank You Angles

We are really excited to welcome Katie of Waxing Gibbous Pottery to her first Vintage Charlotte Summer Market.  Waxing Gibbous Pottery is a handmade ceramics shop, here is Katie with a little about her process:waxing gibbous pottery

I make ceramic objects for everyday use that capture a memory or a daydream of an exotic place. The time I have spent in the homes of Mexican immigrants and in the tiled rooms of Spain and Morocco has nudged my aesthetic toward bold folk imagery and geometric patterns. I am currently obsessed with Moroccan “zellige” tile mosaics and the palm fronds I saw all over Costa Rica.waxing gibbous potteryI convert images from my travel photographs into paper stencils and silkscreen patterns which are then applied using slip and underglaze to wheel thrown and handbuilt pots. The images transfer imperfectly to the surface of the pot, hinting of worn plaster walls and peeling paint. I work primarily in earthenware which uses less energy to fire and produces bright colors in clay and glazes. My forms are sturdy and comfortable, designed for the daily grind but reminiscent of a faraway place.waxing gibbous potterywaxing gibbous pottery

We are really excited to welcome Sabrina of Inherited back to the Vintage Charlotte Summer Market.  Inherited is a curated vintage clothing and accessories shop, here is Sabrina with a little about her process and what to expect at the Summer Market:
inherited vintage
For each year I spend as a vintage seller, I realize I’ll never be able to streamline the color palette or the era of pieces I sell. In one moment, I’m drawn to muted, dusky hues and pieces from the 1910s to the 1930s. In another breath, I’ll be pulled in the direction of a brightly embroidered bohemian piece from the 1970s. For the 2017 Summer Market, I’m pulling together two capsules that manage to capture both sides of the spectrum.

Along with these capsule collections, I’ll have handbags, shoes, jewelry, and other accessories to add a vintage touch to your wardrobe. Counting down the days until the market!

We are really excited to welcome Tamara of Batch Craft to their first Vintage Charlotte Summer Market.  Batch Craft is an artisan chocolate bar maker, if the photos alone don’t make you drool, here is Tamara with a little of their story:
batch craft chocolate
As lifelong artists, everything influences — and is an expression of — our making. Our current releases feature limited edition, dark chocolate bars as well as travel-inspired drawings and paintings. While art and chocolate might seem an unexpected pairing, both require heavy doses of curiosity, ingenuity, tenacity and craft.
batch craft chocolate
We made our first small batch of bean-to-bar chocolate more than 3 years ago and are currently still one of only two bean-to-bar makers in South Carolina. We use only natural ingredients and the best direct trade cacao beans in the world. We often explore new regions of the world for inspiration as well as partner with local makers including Pure Intentions Coffee, Free Range Brewing, Bulls Bay Saltworks (Charleston, SC) and Dover Vineyards (Concord, NC.)

Each bar is signed and numbered as part of 3–4 limited editions per year. Once the batch sells out, it is gone for good. We are excited to release Batch 10 at the VTGCLT Summer Market!batch craft chocolatebatch craft chocolate
