Vintage Charlotte Indie Vintage Handmade Wedding Event Something Old, Something New

Please join Vintage Charlotte at The Wadsworth Estate on April 13, 2013 for “Something Old, Something New”.  This alternative to a wedding expo will bring brides face to face with local, handmade and (of course!) vintage vendors to help inspire the perfect wedding!

Highlights of the event include a bridal suite with vintage wedding gowns from the 1900s-1970s, bridal accessories, a table decor contest, vintage rentals, letterpress invitations, tasting from caterers and bakers, and more!

Thank you for joining us on our new website!  In addition to having a spiffy new website, we also have some other exciting news to share with all of you vintage lovers!

  • We are proud to now offer vintage event rentals!  Check out our rentals page for more info!
  • We are now accepting vendor applications for “Something Old, Something New”, Vintage Charlotte’s very first pop-up wedding event.  For more information, please see our vendors page!
  • If you are getting married and looking for some splendid inspiration, save the date for “Something Old, Something New”, we will see you April 13th at The Wadsworth Estate.  You can purchase your tickets here!
  • The Summer Market date has been set!  Mark your calendars for June 29th at The Fillmore Charlotte.  Vendor applications for this event will open the week of April 14th.

Holiday Market Vendor Spotlight: OliveYouMore

Our vendor spotlight posts give you a chance to meet some of our amazing vendors before the Vintage Charlotte Hoilday Market on December 8, 2012 at The Fillmore Charlotte.  Please welcome Brenda from OliveYouMore:
I’m Brenda Matthews, professionally, Midday (10a-2pm) Personality, or ‘DJ,’ on K104.7 here in Charlotte. ‘OliveYouMore’ is my ‘side business,’ and my creative venture with my hubby and carpenter, Kenny.  He scratches his head at the things I bring home from my ‘junking’ adventures…a free rusty/crusty ‘roached’ metal glider, a Habitat ReStore table with a broken leg, old crusty door, which ‘we’ made over into three projects – a cocktail table (SOLD!) end table, (FOR SALE) and a chalkboard (ours!). He really liked the sterling silver flask I paid $1.31 for…found out it was worth upwards of $400.00!!!

Here are pics of some of my latest projects, including chalk-painted furniture, chalkboard frames (vintage and new), and re-purposed Christmas stockings made of felted wool from ugly sweaters, and funky skirts and jackets.  What’s ugly has turned into Christmas-cool!  I’ve also been creating dessert pedestals from candle holders and trays and dishes.  I have a variety of vintage Christmas tins, aprons, tablecloths and tree skirts – some with local history!

Såpeterapi is a woman owned & operated company, I provide a Handmade & Natural bath & body line to promote living green while staying clean! Såpeterapi is Norwegian for “soap therapy”, the philosophy of Såpeterapi is simply; Indulge & Escape One Bar At A Time!!
I believe in providing the best possible products.  Everything is made in small batches to ensure the best quality.  All of my bath & beauty products are NOT tested on animals, they are however tested on me!   All ingredients are purchased from vendors located as close to Såpeterapi as possible to cut down on carbon-footprint from transit, fuels and etc. Ingredients are organic and best of all, good for your skin.

Accessories are the jelwelry of the room and right now I’m in love with everything brass which is reflected in my product selections.  I only purchase pieces that I would love to have in my own home and sometimes its hard to part ways with them, especially my brass peacock!
