SOSN Vendor Spotlight: Studio Cultivate

Our next pop-up event will be Something Old, Something New, a local, handmade and vintage wedding experience, which will take place on February 23, 2015 at Sugar Creek Brewing from 6-8pm. Tickets can be purchased here!

We are so excited to welcome Studio Cultivate to Something Old, Something New! Kathryn Godwin, the lovely lady behind Studio Cultivate, is an installation artist and stylist who will be showing off a brand new DIY at SOSN. Here is Kathryn with a little introduction to Studio Cultivate:

Studio Cultivate was formed to offer intricate, bespoke creations for a variety of spaces including commercial, residential and event spaces. We love working with a variety of materials, and continually challenge space and process to create whimsical, meticulously crafted, and awe-inspiring installations and experiences. We delight in all things playful, magical, and full of life. Some of our clients have included the Biltmore Estate, Lowes Home Improvement, Off Broadway Shoes, Anthropologie, BHLDN and Belk. If you are interested in collaborating or just want to say “hi!” please stop by our booth at Something Old, Something New!

We are so excited to welcome Maliasmark to Something Old, Something New! Maliasmark will have a selection of vintage and antique items to wear, use as props and decor and even to use for DIY projects. Here is Malia with a little introduction to Maliasmark:

I love junk stores and I was always combing little places on the back roads of South Carolina for my latest decorating finds on the weekends. People always say that they would have never thought to buy that or they wouldn’t know what to do with it. And what can I say, some of the things I like can be downright odd. But I found out there are tons of people like me, that like these things too. So I thought I would share some of these items here! The more I find and use these items, the less tolerance I have for anything new. There is so much already out there just waiting to be discovered, cleaned up, and loved!

We are so excited to welcome Lina Lav to Something Old, Something New! Lina Lav will be offering engaged couples a chance to register for her beautiful, unique tableware. Here is Melina with a little introduction to Lina Lav:

We create handmade ceramic tableware using traditional and contemporary techniques . Each piece is thrown on the wheel, glazed , illustrated by hand and fired three times to full maturity. Our ceramics hope to not only inspire culinary expression but a lingering dialogue around the table. Ceramics by Lina LaV are simple in color and design and are best used for installation as a whole, with family, friends , fine food and beautiful conversation.

Behind the scenes here at Vintage Charlotte, we get more support than we could ever imagine from our talented vendors. Vintage Concord is always there when we need a sounding board, an awesome event poster designed, or even a shoulder to cry on! If you’ve meet Vintage Concord at our pop-up markets, you may already know that they have killer vintage finds as well as at the last market they introduced us to some of their new lighting projects and goods. What you may not know is that Vintage Concord just moved to a new studio where they will be offering their new letterpress workshops. Could there possibly be a better way to celebrate Valentine’s day than by sharing the work of Kathryn Godwin from Studio Cultivate?! Her amazing work is just coated in love, the kind of love that you can just feel she puts into every piece she makes by hand! She creates amazing custom decor as well as custom illustrations! We heard that she is going to be setting up a very special photo booth at Something Old, Something New that has recently graced the pages of Charlotte Wedding Magazine. Oh, and did I mention she also illustrated our event poster?

SOSN VENDOR SNEAK PEAK: Old south vintage rentals

Old South Vintage Rentals has been Vintage Charlotte’s partner in crime, ahem, I mean rentals for the last year and we are so excited that they are joining us for Something Old, Something New! Old South Vintage Rentals specializes in upholstered furniture, tables and pews, but they’ve got way more than that! They are bringing some truly amazing pieces with them to Heist on February 16th to help us completely transform the space! Come out and see their pews in a mock ceremony site and tables all dressed up for a reception!
