Leading up to the market, we’ll be sharing vendor spotlight posts that give you a chance to meet some of our amazing vendors in advance of the market. We are really excited to welcome Public Interest CLT to their first Vintage Charlotte Market.  Public Interest specializes in a curated selection of nostalgic vintage clothing and accessories from the 80s+90s.  Here is Jess and Josh with their story and a sneak peak of what they are bringing to market:

In the winter of 2017, I (Jess) expressed interest to Josh about starting a business together. It was important to me, as a single mom, to create a legacy for my daughter and Josh wanted something to call his own. With just an idea to start a business, the concept of Public Interest CLT was born when Josh visited family in Virginia for Christmas. At the beginning of 2018, we began researching vintage and immediately fell in love with the product. It quickly became a lifestyle for the both of us!

Jessie has sent over a sneak peak of some of the products that she will be bringing along with her to market, along with an introduction to the brand:

My name is Jessie and I began drawing patterns for dolls when my oldest daughter, now 13, was a toddler. I couldn’t find any dolls that matched my personal aesthetic or my values, so I began drafting my own. I quickly learned that I was not alone and that others were looking for a quality product that combined nostalgia with modern influence. That was 10 years ago, and they’ve gone through many iterations over the years to arrive at the heirloom- quality product I lovingly make today. Often people are seeking for dolls that represent different cultures or unique characteristics and I love being able to create something that fills that need.

“This was so great for my brand. Sometimes you are so close to your brand that you know something isn’t right but you just need to hear it from someone else. Amy delivered the bum kicking I needed and helped me re-think aspects of my business and get 2017 off to an amazing start.”
