Holiday Market Vendor Spotlight – Charchaic Vintage

Posted by | events, vendor spotlight | No Comments
Our vendor spotlight posts give you a chance to meet some of our amazing vendors before the Vintage Charlotte Hoilday Market on December 8, 2012 at The Fillmore Charlotte.  Please welcome Cory from Charchaic Vintage:

Charlotte native and returning Vintage Charlotte vendor, Cory Lendon, is looking to breathe new life into old clothes with his newest venture, Charchaic Vintage. Whether it’s pearl button cowboy shirts, or striped skater socks, Charchaic Vintage caters to both men and women with a penchant for late 70’s through early 90’s styles at affordable prices.

“I’m an 80’s kid, and things in that era were so much simpler and more innocent. We’ll never get those days back, but thankfully the fashion is still relevant, and has been for a while now. There are kids in this generation that appreciate the music and culture of that time period, and want to emulate it, which is so rad to see. It’s all respect. I’m proud to be a part of the local vintage movement, man.”

SUMMER MARKET VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: Chelle and Robert Wagner

Posted by | events, vendor spotlight | No Comments
Our vendor spotlight posts give you a chance to meet some of our amazing vendors before the Vintage Charlotte Summer Market on June 23rd at The Annex.  Please welcome Chelle and Robert who operate their own auction house and three amazing online shops Chelle’s Jewels, Chelle’s Treasure and Wagner’s Treasures:
Our passion is treasure hunting and the jobs we have created for ourselves reflect that.  We own RCW Auctions Inc in Kernersville NC.  As auctioneers we are constantly in the world of auctions and we love to pick up great items and we often buy entire estates.  We both have certain items we are passionate about and those things stay in our personal collections; for Chelle it is collectible glass shoes and victorian boot vases, hand vases with the delicate painted fingernails, and head vases.  For Robert it is old bottles the more detailed and intricate the better.  We have two antique booths in The Antique Marketplace in Greensboro and three Etsy stores………still we are overflowing with more treasures than we have time to sell.  We are so excited to be vendors at Vintage Charlotte, it gives us a chance to let go of some of our finds at amazing prices!

Robert is bringing a huge collection of Mantiques such as tools, weathervanes, copper buckets, old tools, and a coke cooler.  We both love advertising pieces so we will have quite of few of those.  I [Chelle] am bringing lots of retro kitchen items.  The 1950s – 1970s is a favorite era of mine.  I love the shiny chrome, the cute aprons, the colorful canisters.
We will also have some great vintage luggage, books, paper ephemera and mixed media art supply.

Summer Market Vendor Spotlight: Eclectic Orchid

Our vendor spotlight posts give you a chance to meet some of our amazing vendors before the Vintage Charlotte Summer Market on June 23rd at The Annex.  Please welcome Marcy from Eclectic Orchid:

I will be bringing some of my Memory Collector necklaces with me. They are a combination of salvaged buttons, repurposed chandelier crystals, vintage lockets, and an assortment of new pretties as well. Here is the story behind them:

Lindsay Wynne Photography

And as the years passed, she began to gather her collection of bits and baubles, trinkets of days gone by, reminders of what once was. As she positioned each one on the chain, she was flooded with memories, of happiness, of life, of love. Each piece had a story to tell, its history known only to her. And so, she would continue to collect her memories, sharing them with others to give them new meanings, new purposes, new tales to be told by those who came to cherish them…

Introducing my new Memory Collector necklaces! Each one is unique, with its very own story to tell. Collections of vintage beauties combine to make a unique and interesting work of wearable art! Each one is completely unique, one of a kind!

Summer Market Vendor Spotlight – Cosmic Ephemera

Posted by | vendor spotlight | No Comments
Our vendor spotlight posts give you a chance to meet some of our amazing vendors before the Vintage Charlotte Summer Market on June 23rd at The Annex.  Please welcome our first vendor to be featured in the spotlight, Brooke from Cosmic Ephemera:

Hi there! I’m Brooke, proprietor of Cosmic Ephemera and blogger at My Indie Charlotte. I love absurd things like little doll limbs and old photographs of dudes making weird faces. I don’t know why.

My shop Cosmic Ephemera is a much more toned down, aesthetically-pleasing version of what goes on in my head. I’m a collage artist by sport, and I’ve always loved incorporating little bits of vintage ephemera into my wall art and journals. When this ephemera collection of mine starting getting out of control, I knew it was time to open up shop and share my findings with others.

So now I sell vintage scrap kits. These kits are packed with about 20-40 themed pieces. Some of the sets you’ll see at the Vintage Charlotte Summer Market include fashion clippings from 1920s magazines, groovy children’s book illustrations, and lots of old school folks from old school books doing old school things. I also have a handful of delightful vintage books that are pretty hard for me to part with. Look out for a cool 1970s French craft book, and surreal astrology paperbacks that give some hardcore advice.

My aim with Cosmic Ephemera is to give buyers the inspiration to create something fabulous and unique out of one little bit of vintage. Or to just aid in your paper hoarding, so I won’t be the only one.

Oh, and you should know: Cosmic Ephemera is undergoing a little renovation, so most of the items you see here–plus plenty more–will only be available starting June 23 at the Vintage Charlotte Summer Market! I’m excited to see you there!
